In early 2004, Jack in the Box opened two revolutionary "concept stores" for something they call "JBX." These are high-end not-quite-fast-food stores in San Diego in the areas of Hillcrest and Pacific Beach.

Stuff that's gone.

Philip Greenspun at CalTech
I attended the Philip Greenspun "One Day" Web Courses at the California Institute of Technology, in Baxter Lecture Hall.
What I wrote about these in 1999 was:
"THESE FILES ARE HOW MY PAGES HAPPEN TO LOOK IN LATE MARCH, 1999 IN VARIOUS BROWSERS.
NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME EXPERIENCE, YOU SEE.
There are also some shots here of really bad website management of ipronetwork.org
The Web Is Not A Screenshot
In 2000, I got very proud of coining the phrase "The web is not a screenshot" -- I never did get around to writing an essay on the topic, and I had no blog at that time, so I never did write about it. But I did take these screenshots in all the available browsers I could think of. Perhaps these will be of historical interest to those who wonder what artlung.com looked like at the time.

Physics Notecards - 1989
In 1988, I took Physics 101 at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley College of Health Sciences. For the tests, we were allowed to have 1 double sided 3x5 card with notes. These are the cards. I think of them as an early project in information design.
