To my knowledge I’d not drawn “The Schmoo” in the 21st century until I managed it at lunch last week. Close. The Schmoo is a charming character created by Al Capp, a great cartoonist who did some great things but also could be quite cruel and we’d now call problematic and abusive. Also a random melting VW bug whose details apparently are in my brain somewhere. It’s always a delight to get to sit and think and remember and draw with a friend.
