I’m an RRT and know I shouldn’t be in healthcare. However, I graduated anyway to finish what I started. Degree and license in hand I started my job at a local hospital. Everything I learned in school is bullshit and I was not prepared for what RRT’s have to go through. I have only been a therapist for 2 years and my attitude is “meh” I decided I really don’t give a f*&$ any more. Nurses want treatments on pt’s who dont need them, fine. Do I go above and beyond my duties to actually make a difference, nope. I sling my treatments out, do what I need not to get fired and collect my pay. The RRT’s who are going to whine at me for being a bad representation of respiratory therapy can kiss my butt because for every 1 of you, there’s 15 of me. I’m just telling it like it is. Personally I dont mind showing up to work going thru the motions and getting paid $20/hr. Sure beats McDonald’s Lol
