Sent to be Columbus [fragment]

Now crawl to me Magellan across your barren straits
I’m stranded on the sidewalk but I’m sailing
Now the rose is whispering and dripping bouquet
Now my tongue is listening to every insect message that you’ve
sent to me Columbus across your fruited plain
soul shipwrecked ‘tween the pillars of your failing
Now the rose is glistening and screaming my name
Now my tongue is listening to every insect message on the town
every insect message underground
