Diary Today

Sunday. Day of rest, in theory.

Started the day finishing up work on my new Mixtapes page.

Here’s what that looks like right now.

Mixtapes have been important for me for a long time. I intend to do more with it.

I am thinking I’ll be adding mixtapes back as far as 1982 which I’ve made. Some maybe that my friends Erin and Chris made too.

Ambition!

I shared this on the 32-Bit Cafe Web Weaving Workshop this morning. It’s great to share time with other people who love making websites. Even if those folks are half or a third my age. Steal the enthusiasms of the young, I say. And share your enthusiasms with everyone. Some people will mock and scoff. Do it anyway. Some people will appreciate it.

And then? I hit the beach.

I forgot my phone case, so I took a panorama from the car.

Berms were down. Wind was unfavorable. Sunny! Caught some waves. No videos caught by Surfline. Alas. But getting into the water is so good.

Restoreth my soul and whatnot.

Then, back home for a shower, and then an afternoon movie date with Kelly.

The theater in Coronado has ornate brocade curtains.
It has murals of sites around San Diego. That tower also appears in Citizen Kane.
You can trust a theater with a movie suggestion box.

Mickey 17 was pretty good. A bit on the goofy side? It reminded me a bit of Moon (2009), which is a compliment. I appreciated that I think the movie is broad enough that if President Trump watched it he would recognize both that it’s making fun of him and that it’s not wrong to insult him. Not a cure for our ills, but it gave me some solace.

The end of the day included doing and recording a CSS Battle Daily Target.

I do these every day. Sometimes the challenge is a fun one. This one was a nice surprise, but I did get to 100% match, which is the baseline goal for me.

And now I’ve had dinner and blogging.

One last dog walk and then time for bed.
