Dear Diary, Okay?

It’s my birthday week.

We had coffees and hung out in Bird Rock this morning. It was a lovely and also productive morning. We were at Starbucks and I got my regular coffee order, the Caffè Misto. And yes, I documented that as a new page using my new lightweight pages at /starbucks.

And I finished off this notebook.

Notebook Cover

Stickers from that notebook are from many, many sources.

The coffee-headed cat is from James
Rewild Mission Bay
Becca Whitaker
Miquela Davis
radical emprints
Billy Galaxy toy store in Portland.
IndieWeb Camp
Krisztianna
Niki Buckno
Broad Street Oyster Company

I have more stickers than can fit on notebooks. That’s not even all the creators.

After that I hit the water.

Crystal Pier’s end has been closed since the end of 2023. But there were workmen on it today! I felt hopeful about seeing people up there. It’s such a lovely spot to take photos from. Two of my favorite photos of myself were taken from that Pier. One by Al, one by Kelly.

Crystal Pier’s north side, two pilings have a black covering where there was damage before.

The waves were not great. There was an onshore wind. It collapses the waves and is unfavorable. It’s a giveaway when there aren’t many other surfers out. I mean, sometimes I’ve been out when it’s awesome and then the surfers show up. But as it is the waves were not great.

I caught a few, but nothing great.

But every session is a lesson. There’s something to be gotten even in slushy bad waves. Even a pool constitutes lessons in swimming.

But today it was mediocre waves.

Kelly took this one.

And tonight Kelly made tremendous corned beef and cabbage. Absolutely delicious. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

I’ll leave you with a photo from 2014 from Crystal Pier.

Thanks for reading.
