Meetup at one time was a terrific way to start new ad hoc local events. Then there were per-member fees. Upsells. Spam.
It’s barely useful now.
The lost promise of large entities providing infrastructure for events is an unending stream of badness.
Not quitting it, it has moments, like many silos.
But I’m feeling doleful about it.
