Thanks to Jo’s post Playlist of the Week I added the song Metamorphosis by the band Infinity Song.

The link for that mix is here. As of this writing it has 57 songs on it. I’ve talked about my annual playlists before but I add the songs as they hit me and I like them. Sometimes things fall off the list but once songs are on there for a few weeks they tend not to fall off.

The art for the mix tape is just Bluey now but that won’t last. I view the annual mix as a work-in-progress and the art comes later, or even last sometimes.

I don’t know if I can top last year’s, which features a great character from the 1970s, Hong Kong Phooey. That playlist had 80 for the whole year. This one has 57 at mid-year, so who knows.2023 got to 100 tracks.

I am currently working (working? no, that is not the right word) on a playlist called Passes for Metal. Jo has a song called White Crosses/Black Crosses which is a candidate for that mix. I’m not sure I will add it though. Still haven’t quite decided whether I like the song.

But I love to hear recommendations for music. It’s hard, because it’s pretty thankless to recommend music to people.

My ears are my ears. Their ears are their ears. It takes time to listen and digest music.

Not everything will hit.

And I’ve found when I shared music and people didn’t like what I like I might feel bad.

Now that I’m older I just try to share what I love, and why I love it.

And if you like it, cool. And if you don’t, cool.

Sometimes you can pass along that good feeling, sometimes it won’t go, but the gesture is positive.
