Two ships
that pass in the night
A terrible metaphor!
…I always thought.
But now I know,
how lonely the night is;
But now I know,
how vast the ocean is;
And in the passing I see…
how rare you are.
In the passing…
charm and joy.
In the passing…
longing and despair.
Two ships
pass in the night
And now I know…
what the terrible metaphor means.
And I was right:
It is terrible.
And I was wrong:
It is wonderful.
