CRAWDADDY. Among the places I lived as a kid were New Orleans & Gretna, Louisiana. What do children in Louisiana nickname a boy with the surname “Crawford?”: Crawdad, Crawfish, Crawdaddy. And so: this. In an old photo I spotted a tiny drawing taped to the side of the b&w tv attached to my TI-99/4a computer. It was too blurry to see the details but had the word “CRAWDADDY” in overlapping capitals with a cartoon crawfish sitting in a similar chair typing at a similar computer. 40 years later: this drawing.
