Despite being excited about Speed Racer, I find myself unimpressed by the vast majority of the movies that come out. Two documentaries that are on tap look really great though.
Heh. I love documentaries. Supposedly when I was about 4 or 5 years old we were visiting my Grandmother (Mom’s side). They watched soap operas in that house, loved the. The story goes that I grew bored with the soap operas and asked if we could put the tv “on a documentary or something?”
I can probably rattle off, no peeking at IMDB, a list of documentaries I have enjoyed. Ooh, what a great way to procrastinate. Here goes: Crumb, Hoop Dreams, No Maps for These Territories, Fog of War, Eyes on the Prize, Spellbound, startup.com, The Corporation, The War Room, Roger & Me, Fahrenheit 9/11, Bowling for Columbine, Sicko, The Thin Blue Line, Rock School, New York Doll, Red Hot Ballroom.
Mind you, most of these movies I saw in the theater. That took me maybe 3 minutes, and I was barely trying! I do love a good documentary.

thought of you when I saw this on film.com:
“Why Do We Love Reality TV but Avoid Documentary Movies?”
